Dr Josh Freeman explains TPP and increased medicine costs.

Smoking
* Plain cigarette packaging; nicotine reductions; and capping cigarette retail outlets would not allowed, amongst other things.
Alcohol
* New Zealand will have to comply with foreign import standards not consistent with NZ standards; the alcohol content of RTDs would not be able to be capped.
Medicines
* Medicines would be more expensive if patents are lengthened.
* Pharmac will not be allowed to negotiate bulk discounts for medicines.
* Pharmac will have to justify every purchasing decision to drug companies; drug companies will have the right to appeal Pharmac's decisions.
* The identities of Pharmac medication-buying decision-makers will have to be published for drug companies.
